Carces Information

Carcès, is a small medieval village in the heart of Green Provence.  It has some of the best weather in France with about 300 days of sun!  It is 60km from the coast, the nearest resorts are St. Tropez, Le Lavandou and Ste.Maxime, and less than 80km from the famous Gorges du Verdon, which proved too much for Jeremy Clarkson.

It is famed for its cycling, walking, climbing, hiking terrain and undulating beauty amid the confluence of the 2 rivers Carami and Argens flowing to Frejus.  There is also the Lac de Carcès, reservoir of Toulon, where you can fish and they have caught some whoppers!

For hunters the wild boar season opens mid-August and other hunting from mid-September.  The village is medieval, famous for its half-tiled houses, fountains, chapels and was always in the thick of revolution.  8 restaurants and 3 bars await your orders and there is a big civic program in the summer for visitors with jazz and dancing and, of course, the Saturday market.
